NIST has announced the official release of version 2.0 of its Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). After two years of work, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released version 2.0 of its widely used Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), completing the draft it released in September.
The most significant structural change to the CSF is the addition of a sixth function, “Control,” around which the previous five functions of Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover revolve.
Users are provided with implementation examples and quick guides adapted to their specific needs.
